I am having so much fun with my new Kindle. I think this may be the best birthday present I’ve ever gotten. A solid day of surfing the free book selection brought me from one book to over 200! I noticed along the way that it’s a time consuming process, so I thought I’d share some Kindle free book lists on Squidoo to save like minded folks some time.
As I find more great free books on Kindle I will add to those lists and create more. Two on the drawing board right now are Animal Tales, and Fairy Tales (OMG there’s TONS of old traditional fairy tale collections).
Oh yeah, a bonus list by a friend that I ran into today:
Best Review – Top 6 4th Of July Recipe Books (Kindle) Not free, but timely.
Given the state of the economy and unemployment these days, I want to boast on my webhost, GatorHost, for having hired 580 new employees since Jan. 1st of this year. They are also a “green” company using only renewable energy. I know I said I would never endorse another hosting company after the last one imploded like they did but…GatorHost is truly a worthy hosting company for many reasons, not the least of which being inexpensive pricing, great support, and one click install for blogs.
Dover publications of the great coloring books and ooodles of public domain clipart is having a nice sale offering. Get a 1440 Geometric Vector Designs CD-ROM and Book free with $40 purchase. No affiliation – I just love their stuff and you probably do, too.
I am deeply excited and proud to announce my first Zazzle award ever – TWO of my Summer Solstice Greeting Cards are on the Top Ten Most Viewed List today! Squee!
I ran onto this link today that I thought might be of interest to homeschoolers, and anyone with children at home. The Foo Fighters included coloring pages in their 2011 Concert Tour Rider. See – adults do color!
And being more than a little bit encouraged by the success of my current Summer Solstice designs, I added three more designs today on a number of products;
I’ve signed up to participate in Drawing Day. Now doesn’t that sound like something all you colorists would love? I will probably post my art here, on Facebook, and Deviant Art.
The computer is working again – more or less. That is – it is now WORSE and even more non-functional than it was before the “updates” and I have had to switch to using IE since the newest Mozilla is not compatible and the older Mozilla won’t install – but of course, I also cannot install the newest IE because the computer is not “updated” to the latest because the “updates” will not install. I guess most people can run right out and spend $300 on a new computer. It really isn’t that much – but it is more than this starving artist can come up with right now. So I will continue to struggle along with my “new” computer which is all of five years old (almost the last time I had a paying job – washing dishes for Denny’s – and no time at all to create). Gripe, gripe, gripe, I know.
I’ve had a really busy week this week that has kept me out of the house and away from the computer and the drawing pad. The latest drawings I have done have all been for Purebred Pets On…the Zazzle store that caters to the professional or pet hobbist, groups, clubs, and so on. I put all the postage designs up first, since they have to be approved – and I am now working on t-shirts. Expect greeting cards, business cards, stationery, buttons, stickers, etc. to follow as soon as I get a chance to sit and work on it. Here’s a peek at one of the t-shirts you might like;
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers. I got a new coloring book – LOL – I hope you got something that pleases you and you have a wonderful day.
I don’t know what I was thinking when I signed up not only Foovay’s Cauldron for the April A to Z Blogging Challenge but also THIS blog! Am I crazy? (Don’t answer that)
On top of that, one thing and another came up – making April 1st a very busy day. But I still managed to get you not one, but three new coloring pages, with Angels – since that seemed to be the theme for the day one way and another. First I got to enjoy my Squid Angel status by joining all the Squid Angels in a Neighborhood Tour. Later my hubby discovered his payment had arrived early – a real blessing since we had been lied to about another benefit last month that left us literally out of food. No fun for me, life endangering for him. On our way home from shopping we got to be angels again – donating some money to a young lady who was stranded, out of gas, and out of money. It’s just an angel kind of day!
I did something very unusual for me today. While looking for some reference photos of angels at FromOldBooks.org – an excellent source of public domain art and line drawings, I ran onto a drawing that was perfect in almost every way – except the lines were gold rather than black. So I took it into PaintShopPro9 did just a bit more tweaking, and here it is;
You can click on the thumbnail or here for the Angels of Peace Coloring Page. You’ll notice it does not say “Line Art by Color-Your-Own.com” on it anywhere – I didn’t draw it. It is in the public domain, however, so there is no reason I cannot tweak it for you and share it. FromOldBooks.org has many line drawings that with just a bit of work could work well for coloring pages – you might want to check it out!
Here are the two angels I drew;

Kneeling Angel with Book Coloring Page
I started a new section in the menu for angels – I couldn’t figure out where else to put them!
Most of my time this week has been devoted to working on my Zazzle store, Enchanted Greetings and Purebred Pets on Postage. It isn’t finished yet, but it is looking a lot better. More products, and much better organization coming soon…
See you tomorrow with some B’s
