New Coloring Page – Summer Kayaking

April 14th, 2011

This is the K post for the April A to Z Blogging Challenge

Summer Kayaking and Birdwatching Line Art

How many of you knew I love to kayak and birdwatch?  Both are some of my favorite things to do.  I can’t wait until the water is warm enough around here to get the kayak out!  One thing I love about kayaking is the wildlife and birds seem to not think you are a threat – they will let you get much closer in a kayak than they ever would if you were on foot.  I hope I captured some of that peace and serenity I love in this coloring page of summer kayaking and bird watching. You can find more Summer coloring pages for all ages at this link.

New Coloring Page – Nuturing Tree

February 2nd, 2010

Here is another tree coloring page created from one of my original watercolor paintings. I loved the tiny little tree coming up right at the feet of the big mighty oak, as if the big tree were protecting the little fellow. Here is the link to the tree coloring page, along with a thumbnail and a thumbnail with link to the painting posted on Flickr in case you’d like a reference.

It occurred to me that you might be wondering why the last two paintings have “fre-ecards.com” on the bottom. I used to own and run that website featuing my own art on eCards. Sadly when my old webhost went out of business I was not able to get the eCards set back up. I still own the domain and someday when I’ve got a spare $200 or so to pay for the software and installation, I’ll get it going again.

New Coloring Page – Fallen Tree Over a Stream

February 2nd, 2010

You guys are always challenging me with your requests! In the last two days I’ve gotten three exciting requests that have made my heart warm, made me think, and challenged my drawing ability. Keep ‘em coming! You can always email requests to me – be sure and put Color Your Own in the subject line so they don’t get shuffled off to junk mail tho.

Linda wrote to tell me her husband loves to color trees and shrubs. I love trees, too – especially ones with very interesting shapes. I told my husband about the request and he responded by taking some photos (which is what he loves to do) and I’ll be sharing those later. The first thing I did was go look back in the archives for some old watercolor paintings I had done of trees. This is the first coloring page – a tree fallen over a stream. One of those hardy willows, when I drew it it still had green leaves on it! Here’s a link to the fallen tree coloring page as well as a thumbnail linked to the painting on Flickr so you have a reference if you’d like one.
