New Coloring Pages – Lizards!

April 15th, 2011

This is L in the April A to Z Blogging Challenge

I noticed some time ago that Color-Your-Own.com has one woeful deficit – no reptile or amphibean coloring pages! and I do not understand that, since I myself happen to really like reptiles and amphibeans. I guess people ask me more for the fluffy friendly type creatures!

So for the “L” blog I’d like to finally add some lizard coloring pages! I picked two of my favorite lizards to add first. The Desert Grassland Whiptail Lizard is the State Lizard of New Mexico We have tons of them out at the ranch during the warm months – but I love them most in the spring when their colors are fresh and new. These lizards have bright turquoise blue tails, and the youngs ones have blue on the head as well. I’ve included a link on the coloring page to a photo and article so you can read more about them. The other new lizard is one that is familiar to many people, also native to the Southwest U.S.A. although we don’t have them in New Mexico – the closest Gila Monsters to us would be in Arizona. You may use these links or click on the thumbnails to get to the new lizard coloring pages. Enjoy!
